A cheap but rare lens: minolta super rokkor 45 2.8 on M9

I got this lens relatively cheap, tried it today on M9. The image turned out characteristic. I did not find too many sample shots with it before I placed my order, SO I thought it might be helpful to post some in case any of you are wondering.

There was a discussion on the forum a few years ago from someone looking for a really small lens and the Chiyoko Super-Rokkor was mentioned several times. I found a nice one for about 200 usd and I have been very pleased with it. The handling characteristics are a little odd but it's nice having both the big knurled knob and a lever for focusing. The lack of click stops for the aperture makes it easy to dial in just the right stop when I use it on my M6 TTL. I can also use the same A-36 filters and FOOKH hood from the 35 3.5 Summaron.

I think this lens has similar feature as the LOMO minitar pancake.

I have one too. Just like the OP's lens. I have always liked the results from this lens, but I'm not "connecting" with it in terms of ergonomics/usage. Mostly because when I change aperture, it causes the focus to turn and I change focus. Its not often, but sometimes I dial my focus ahead of time, and just want to manage exposure/DOF without changing it. For some reason, I have less issue with the Elmar even though it seems like it would do the same thing.

Still, its a really small lens, and really heavy for such a small lens. Probably one of the highest weight-to-size ratio of all my lenses (not just ragefinder lenses). Did I say it performs rather nicely?
