I have never had a lens clearned before, but I certainly need it for my new (used) 75mm Fujinon SWD lens because it has lots of dust inside. Little tiny superfine dust. And I can't get it out on my own, so it need a cleaning. My question is, has anyone ever had that done to a large format lens before? Do the elements retain their original exactness of alignment after being moved around? I am nervous about this.

Have you taken any pictures with the lens yet? You may be worrying about nothing, especially if you are shooting on 4x5.

Have you removed the front and rear lens elements from the shutter and cleaned those surfaces that are against the shutter? I don't have this particular lens, but I have unscrewed Kodak Ektars, B&L, and Optars from their shutters and cleaned these surfaces.

I have removed the lens from the shutter and blown it out with a can of air. The dust seems to be between the sealed elements. This is a new lens, and really expensive, so I want to make the most of the cost of it. But maybe you are right about the fact that it may not be important at all. I am looking into it right now.
