I used some of the tips offered and did a test hike with my Cambo monorail. I used the Kelty Redwing suggested by DFOO and, once packed, it worked great. (But I am awaiting arrival of a 12" rail to ease the packing/unpacking ordeal.)
Not a long hike , but some scrambling on rocky, slick ledges was required. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

The 60's Schneider 135mm lens give pretty low contrast and shows some flare when directed into the setting sun filtered through the trees:
