This is what my cousin wrote to me in an email reflecting on the postings of my vacation pics on my website. He and I went together on the trip to England and France. He shot digital (P&S - a nice one). I used my RF645. We took many pictures of the same things, more or less.

"DAMN your shots are awesome. I LOVE FILM! Mine all look so fish eyed and digital in comparison. I will have the Paris shots up by tonight. Peace. Oh and what is your cell phone #?"

Perhaps he feels the gravity of film photography?

George: Wonderful stuff. My best friend from high school just retired after 32 years of teaching French, and she goes to France yearly. I pointed her to the shots you posted here earlier, and she really loved them.

New developments in my efforts to draw my cousin into the film world :

"**** dude you are going to get me completely sucked into this addiction
to the point where I quit the academy or something." - my cousin in a recent emailing.

he is at Westpoint, is a digicam guy, but I am slowing breaking him down. He has a thing for cameras that he didn't even know, and I just got him to buy a Holga which is as far from digicam land as you can get for 20 bucks.

Just a little more, and he will have passed beyond the film event horizon, and will no longer be able to see the digital realm at all. (sinister cackle).

How do you spell cackle? Kakle, cackel, kackel . . .

The first one is supposed to be free. 😀

Careful, or you will find yourself hanging around elementary schools handing out disposable film cameras to kids.

Many of those shots are really good and I can't comment on all of them, but 'Montmartre stairs' caught my eye immediately. It looks like it's out of an old painting. I like it a lot.
