I took out my new R-D1 today to try it out. My old one was replaced by Epson. I was fortunate to pull preschool duty for my daughter today. I shot a series of pictures of her but I will not boor you with them. Here is the first one. The settings on the camera was:
iso 800
Leica 28mm F/2 asph
Auto WB
Shutter set to AE 1/23 sec
RAW format
Post processing was:
Changed WB to fluorescent white.
No color correction
no sharpening
no manipulation other than to downsize to 800x600
Comments welcome. I love this picture because it is an accurate representation of my little girl hard at work.
Apart from that I would like to here some constructive criticism good or bad on this pix.
Thank you very much,
Chris

Here is a humorous self portrait showing me in my world and the positions I had to be in to take pictures and play/take care of daughter.
iso 800
vignetting 28mm applied
Post-processing to lighten.
sharpening applied after downsizing to 800x532.
Thanks,
Chris

That first one is a funny shot. 1st shot: Young woman helping the table full of toddlers. Background; one Toddler showing the table full of grown-ups how to do it.
The self portrait: Been there, done that! You got to get that low camera angle. Enjoy her at this age; it's a blast!

I think the colors look great, the only thing that I think is distracting is the lady in the top left corner. I guess my first quick impression is that I wish she wasn't there.

Nice documentary shot of your little girl in class. She will treasure it when she grows up!

You are right. I loved her expression but she does distract from the main focus of the photo. Unfortunately it is hard to wait for the right shot with little ones as they change and move very fast. Thankfully there is Photoshop.
Cheers,
Chris
