Thanks very much guys. I have lots and I'm still editing. From the outset, I thought I'd do b&w, but a few scream "color!"
Paul, I was there for four days for work...I'm an airline pilot. I didn't want to sit around the pool and get a sunburn...so I went on an adventure!

Only other camera was an iPhone 4S, and I made a couple of great Hipsta shots with that thing. I almost chose JUST my Contax T3 (for stealth), but the light in many of the areas of the favela was very low, and I wouldn't have been able to shoot slide film (which is what I would have shot the rest of Rio with).
On top of the favela I could've used my 28 or even a 24 (which I don't have), and a 50 would have been nice for the closer portraits I made. At the end of the day, though, I don't know how many subjects would have patiently waited for a lens change. I opted for immediacy and content, not perfect focal length or crop. Hell, even my favorite shot above, the two boys, isn't in focus...it happened too quickly. I still like it though...maybe just because I was there, I don't know.
No problems with just a 35 fov. My co-shooter, a local originally from Paris (he's an RFF member) shot only an M8 and a 35 (so he was looking at closer to a 50 for, I think). I haven't seen his shots yet, but he seemed to make it work.

I've never been personally, but from shots I've seen it can be tight in the favelas, and a 50 would be too long in some cases. If you only carry one focal length, 35 seems like the one to take to Rio.
However, slide film would be great for shots like the one from your Hipsta-phone

Well-done, friend. I recognize all those locations. Nice stuff, especially the Christo peeking out of the clouds. And that Hipstamatic! Can i Tumblr it?
