Some time ago I acquired a set of Leica equipment and subsequently stumbled upon the work of a deceased doctor and amateur photographer from New Zealand called Roland G Phillips-Turner who in the 1950′s and 60′s travelled around remote regions of New Zealand’s North Island doing medical research and documenting his travels.

Cheers, Jason

New Zealand with a Hasselblad and Slide film. Fantastic.

The sentiment regarding archival quality and future discovery is well made. Good post.

I should probably have put an image up to entice you guys to take a look at the post......🙂

There is something compelling about these. Thanks for publishing them and thanks for posting here.

Have you had any interest from people in/from the area in the photos?

I agree, I see them as compelling also.

I have had some emails regarding the images, I'm slowly gathering snippets of information from the family as they recall things. In the new year if I have enough to go on I will retrace some of this journey with the owners M5 and my Blad....

Thanks again.

Jason.

Have a been to a number of those places in recent years and interesting to see what it looked like all those years ago. I shot film in most of them as well. Will have film archives available to my kids and their kids at last.
