A good end to the week Minox 35 ML

Thanks for sharing the images in this thread, however I have bad news on the 35ML after being assured that it work, the usual none working shutter, anyway I now in the process of recieving a refund

My 35GT was CLA'd by DAG several years ago and has been trouble free since then. It's one of my absolute favorites, and may be only camera I'll never sell. The design, lens and small size make it tops in my book.

There is a GTE for sale at RFF. The seller says that it is in excellent condition.

I've had PL, GT, ML & GL (my current one). Never had a problem, and I absolutely love the lens. Meter is great for slide film, too.

£25? Bargain! I've got a promise of another PL for £20, next time I'm on a bike ride with the seller.

Never had a problem until two days ago, when I was taking a photo and the shutter button stuck.

I forgive it, though. I got home and found that the 5.6v original mercury battery was down to just 1v, but had been powering the little beauty beyond the call of duty.

Replacement battery on order...

Nice photos, btw, raid. Thanks for sharing.

yes the minox 35 are tuely compact without the hair trigger of the XA, I love the olympus XA, but I do wish it had a lock so that I stop taking shots of the loose change in my pocket:)

.
maybe I should have tried a new battery, however the aperture ring would not fully rotate through the full range of apertures Hope you Minox gets back to full clicking health

Thanks. Although there was a heart-stopping moment after I'd put the battery in when nothing happened (is there a capacitor which needs charging, perhaps?), it sprung back to life, and it was eager to get out & working.

I took a leisurely walk to work this morning, meandering through the back streets of Bermondsey, and getting some great shots. Such fun.

Meanwhile, I can tell you that the problem with your Minox was not the battery. The aperture ring should move freely (and prehaps it's sometimes too freely) at all times. Not doing is a sign of something wrong, and I have to say my understanding is that the Minox 35s are not very repairable. Not that I've ever needed to find that out, though I did strip down the one which was smashed on the street (remember those wrist straps, folks!) out of curiosity.

Hope you're able to find one that works soon.

thanks for the good wishes, well my search for a Minon 35 is now on the back burner as I have grabbed a cheap but woking Olympus XA4, (mmmmmmmmmmmmm 28mm lens) I got a refund off the seller for the broken 35 ML

Ah well. I'm in no position to criticise anyone for opting for looking at the world through Zuiko glass, am I? ;) Hope you enjoy your XA. It ain't in the same class as a Minox, but it's a good 'un.

One day I will get another Minox but I saw an XA4 with the hard to come by strap for £50 so my funds went into that
