Greetings to you all,
Can you please advice me a good repair shop in Sydney to take my S2 for a CLA? The viewfinder is dirty and the patch is become dim. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot on advance,
Sergio.

Sergio, I don't know a good Leica repair shop, but you might try asking staff at Foto Riesel as they sell Leica.

Does it have to be Sydney? In Melbourne there's Camera Clinic in Collingwood, official repair agents for Leica, Canon, Fuji and Nikon. I have had my Leica M5 from the '70s there to fix a light leak. A lot of places won't touch that camera. Chances are they'd like to work on your S2.

The Nikon S2 finder is quite basic, so any competent repairman should be able to clean it. The trick to recovering the focus patch is to clean all three sides of the half mirror, including the angled surface as per the photo below (the angled surface is the most important surface to clean). Its tricky to clean that angled surface though because there is just a very tiny gap between it and the metal back. Just enough space to slide a folded lens cleaning paper through.
This is a Nikon S2 half mirror that I cleaned a few years back. The focus patch went from being almost unusable to being really good (very easy to focus).

Thanks a lot Lynn and Richard for the tips, will email them right now. I arrived to Sydney just a month ago and still I'm trying to find my way around, so thanks a lot for the quick responses.
jonmanjiro, thanks a lot for the illustrative tip, but I think I'm not that competent nor fearless to do it myself.
The good news is that it won't be that complicated to clean.
Cheers and again thanks a lot for the quick reply!
