I need a lens adjustment - not a RF lens, but a big ol' Zeiss-for-Contax 35-70 zoom that's focusing OK at one end of its range but front-focusing at the other.
I wonder who might do a good job? Probably someone old enough to have worked on one of these lenses in Contax SLR days.
Any suggestions - please?

EDIT: This message was posted to the SF Bay Area RFF group, and I was expecting local recommendations. But if you know someone elsewhere who's an expert on Contax SLR repairs, I could use that info too. Thx!

I would contact TOCAD and see what they say.
They were great servicing my Contax.

Kirk,
I would recommend you call Manfred Mueller at ICT Camera in Mountain View. He's experienced and his work is quite reasonably priced. He would give you an honest opinion on whether or not he could help you.

Have you contacted Seawood Photo in San Anselmo? They buy and sell a lot of old equipment, so they might know a person who could handle your lens.

I've used iCamera on Franklin St. in downtown Oakland a few times. His work always seemed fine. I've never used him for lens adjustment however, so can't say for sure how well he does with that. But he's been around for a long time, so he probably has experience with your type of problem.

Thx for replies – and I'll look back at this thread whenever I break another toy.

Enjoy Life.
The ITC folks are very nice, Robert made a nice call recommending them.

Yes, Manfred was the only person who was helpful to me.
BTW, Seawood really shouldn't be recommended for repairs.
