I just received my Collapsible Summicron back from DAG after a sticky focus ring made me think it was time. The lens, bought in 2005 from KEH in BGN condition always looked fine to me until I saw it in its present "like new" condition, and it got me thinking. What kinds of methods and products do y'all use to keep everything looking sparkling? I'm not going to take a lens apart or anything like that. I just want to keep the metal parts, leather, etc. looking spiffy.

All I can add is what a crazy leica expert at Ken Hansen's said to me when I bought my 35/1.4....."Keep it clean, don't keep cleaning it".

The Nikkormat system I purchased a piece at a time early in High School I kept in an overly protected bag, my Leica and Nikon RFs were in a different bag but it was opened was when I was changing lenses or film.

I'd say use your Like-New-To-You lens and don't worry about it. Cameras are tools that can bring many people great joy. Keep a few of lens cleaning wipes in the bag for those times you act like a nut.
