I have found a great day bag for my M3 and a couple of lenses. It's made by Columbia sportswear. Measures about 10x7x3.5. I carry a 90mm and a 21 mm in the bottom of the bag in velver, jewelry-type drawstring pouches and my M3 fits comfortably on top with a 50mm Summicron with vented shade attached. Two side pouches. One for my 21mm finder, the other for 3 rolls of film. I took the factory strap off and substituted a wider snaphook strap from an old Tamrac bag.

i don't care for bags that make me put items in smaller bags inside the main bag.
it just seems like more work to have to take a lens out of a pouch, take the lens off the camera, exchange lenses and then put the removed lens into the pouch.
my big fear is dropping one of the lenses in the transfer process.

Looks like a kiddy-bag. Not being funny, but the size of it and style looks like a backpack my parents would have bought my sister back in primary school. Whatever works though. I doubt many people like my bag-arrangements. 🙂

The Tamrac Velocity 6 is a sling type bag that one wears as a backpack but can swing around in front of you to get to your gear. It very nicely holds my Zeiss Ikon body with a mounted lens, two other lenses up to 90mm to either side of the mounted lens (padded slots), and even a third lens under the mounted lens if their combined length is short enough to fit in the pouch without making contact. There is an outer pocket that can hold about a half dozen rolls of film and a couple of viewfinders or other small paraphenalia. I find it comfortable to the point that I can forget I'm wearing it, and the gear is very well protected. In fact I plan on using it next week while skiing, it is small and light enough not to interfere with my tenuous balance and rides high enough that I am not likely to land on it when I fall (inevitably).

For this kind of travel bags or pouches, there are tons of selection from different brands. You may visit the above sites for some.

I have one from Eagle Creek which is very much like erik's. I think that has been out in production, as I could not find it on their website. I seldom use it as a camera bag. Instead, I use Domke 803 when I go out for shooting. However, there are times that I put an M6 attached with a single lens in it, but that is not for a photographic outing.

Cheerz,

For one M body plus one lens, I recommend Lowepro Apex 110 and 120. I bought one for my M5. The AW and cushion offer more safe than any non-dedicated bag.

M-classic camera bag

Did anyone try M-classic camera bag. Heard they are made for leica M. Looks great from website, but don't know anyone ever try it before. So is there any user's comment on this group?

Do you mean the Billingham bag? I have one. I've used it for years. It works great. It still looks new. It's easy to get the camera out. It holds a M6TTL body with a 35mm lens attached, the hood for the 35mm lens, a 50mm lens and 90mm lens, six rolls of film, and a flash.

I'd be afraid to carry a mclassic bag. it screams 'mug me'. Well... in Swindon it does 🙄
