A week or so ago I placed an ad on the 35mm classified site for my Rollei 35, which I hadn't used in over a year. I decided to shoot a roll of film prior to any sale just to ensure that it was still in excellent shape. The result were so good that I've decided to dust this baby off and use it regularly! I'd forgotten about all the reasons I'd bought it in the first place! Small, solid, sharp images, completely mechanical (even though the light meter does still work fine, it's not necessary). Bottom line, the classified ad is toast!

Hallo thebanana, you will not regret it !You will be happy ! I bought a Rollei 35 more or less i 1980 brfore my first trip (for work reasons) to USA. I used for a couple of years than I wenr back to my SRL system. A few week ago I took the Rollei out, made some maintanance, put new battery in it and start shooting again. It s wonderfull!!! As you says Small, solid, sharp images, completely mechanical !!! great pleasure.

I love my Rollei 35 as well. Though not technically a rangefinder, it certainly has many virtues in common with them, and it's so compact and feels so solid that, even though it's not that heavy, it feels like a small brick. Amazing lens that can go toe-to-toe with any other lens I own. Sure the camera has a quirky design that has a few weaknesses--it's not meant for every picture-taking situation--, but it has a lot of strengths, too.
