A Hasselblad, more than 40 years after first looking.

This cat can do no wrong. Belonged to my mother. Quickly behind glass when we got our kitten...

Again the 32mm extension tube on the 150 Sonnar.

Saw an instagram photo recently of a small console table, the top decorated around the perimeter with wine glasses on their sides, and other objects. The title was "It's the cat's birthday."

A bit more sky in this one might have been better. Thomas Heaton on Youtube, after using a Hasselblad for a bit, reckoned the negative space works particularly well in square format photographs. I missed the opportunity here. I could have left out the larger shells in the foreground. Wasn't using the tripod.

Nice shots Richard, and nice to see some colour images from the Hasselblad. What colour film are you using? Processing it yourself?

I finally developed two rolls of HP5 from my 'new' 1000f (the Lennart Nilsson 1000f) and everything looks good. I'll try to scan a couple of shots later on today.

From the 'old' 1000f up at our property in Canada. With the 80mm Tessar wide open, Ilford Pan F.

Thank you Vince. I am nearly always shooting Kodak Ektar 100 and I don't process it myself. And I've shot Velvia. I love the Kodak warmth of Ektar. It is very fine grain which suits medium format use. The lab I use has variable success with the colour and their scanner doesn't often manage reds well. I don't have the ideal set up for scanning the medium format negatives myself. An expensive Epson scanner sits in its box in my office for years.. that should work. I don't have any comparison for the Hasselblad but on 35mm I also love the Zeiss colours.

Looks like you're having good fun with that 1000F!

I tell ya, I'm loving them both (yes I have two!). They are working very well and I'm especially loving that 135mm Sonnar lens.

One of my longtime clients -- after shooting their pieces (they're custom furniture designers), I usually browbeat them into posing for me. With the Lennart Nilsson 1000f and the 135mm Sonnar, Ilford HP5.

Nice colour. Love that 135 Sonnar. The pensive soldier is a beautiful shot.

Many thanks Richard - yes I’m now a big fan of that 135mm lens. It is a great focal length for this camera, and honestly you can work pretty quickly with the preset aperture. F/5.6 is a nice setting for this lens.

Just on a lark I tried a bit of ‘technology’ on a couple of these photos - the ‘Neural’ filter in PhotoShop. There is a ‘colorize’ option so I gave it a try and then did some manual adjustments with saturation and hue. What do you think?
