Many thanks - fortunately these folks were happy to be photographed that day, plus the morning light and clouds were great.

I still have two more rolls of film from the Super Wide to develop, plus I have two rolls of negs already developed that I haven’t completely gone through. So there will hopefully be a few more decent ones in the mix. Will be another week or so before I can get to them.

Using a Super Wide for portraits is a pretty wild idea, but these work! It's already a difficult camera for more conventional uses; I struggled for a year and a half to master mine, but just couldn't get it to work for me. I finally realized that there is such a thing as too wide, at least for me. Congratulations on your success with this wonderful but difficult tool.

The Super Wide shots so far are only the last four I posted, the rest are with the 1000f and the digital back. I found with the newly-acquired 16 back, it makes for a more useable combo for me. Sometimes with the 12 back I don’t know what to do with the vertical length of the frame, so the 16 back helps to take care of that.

My big inspiration for trying portraits/people shots with the Super Wide came from that Francis Bacon portrait at Primrose Hill by Bill Brandt.

Exactly my experience. The extreme wide angle seems to need a rectangular format. My Pentax 645N with the superb 35mm absolutely sings for me, along with TTL viewing and metering.
 
Like that Supreme and your photos too Vince. I want an SWC, like something that matches these in vintage.

Hasselblads For Events by Nokton48, on Flickr

I used to use these cameras at Events. Now I have rebuilt them, updated somewhat. On the left, 25th Anniversary signed Hasselblad 500C/M, now updated for today, with the CFV16 Hasselblad Digital Back. Introduced in 2007 and produces great results right out of the camera. Super Uber Easy to Use, Very Friendly. On the right is my 500EL/M loaded with 220 B&W Shanghai. Back in the day I would use FUJI EI 800 Color Neg. The EL/M has my new to me 120mm F5.6 S-Planar C T* with Masked Compendium Hood. Noisy but draws attention in a good way. Plan to shoot a few events with these.

25th Anniversary Model 500C/M. Number 0375 of 1500. Engraved by Dr. Hasselblad. At the time Hasselblad USA did not think this was worth any more than a regular 500C/M. They did overhaul the camera for me and it's been very reliable.
