I see some later Praktica M42 models placed the stop-down/meter switch right next to the shutter release.
This is an ingenious design and IMO seems like it would be the next best thing to open-aperture metering.
I just bought my second "modern" Praktica, a model BMS to go along with my B200.
The bayonet models were quite competitive in features to their Japanese contemporaries.
I have heard reliability may not be as good though. Mine seem to be very well-made.
The range of Praktica bayonet lenses is small but there are some bargains as it is a "dead mount".
