a jewish leica copy?

It just proves those East European FED customizers will do up a camera with any symbology that they think might sell!

I have to admit I enjoy the irony of it. Payback time for all those fake "SS Leica" FEDs!

I find both the fake Nazi Leicas (with swastikas and the like) and the "Jewish" ones to be creepy. Who would want either type? The adornment of a fake Leica with stars of David hardly celebrates Judaism, and seems to be an incoherent sort of kitsch. Yecch.

Have to say, that is one of lovelier fake Leica's I've seen. A vast improvement over the Desert Storm or Christmas one!!

Well... fake Leicas are becoming cool collectible objects I think...
This seems that the people making them, are not aware that we know very well that there were no originals like this one... or others!!

But.... I have to admit this one is really nice!!

Iggers,
It must be the engravers' way of coping with their guilt from making the Nazi Leicas. Maybe every 7th camera that rolls off the line is the "Jewish" model. Hey, I thought snake skin was an abomination!
I see that someone in Israel paid $151.86 US for it!!!

This one had the decency to remove all "ELMAR" references from the lens... And it's advertised as a copy. Someone over there is getting better at this.

Who knows, perhaps someday I'll order an FSU camera it will work?

NAH!

As always... I don't mind if you take one of your cameras to customize it, like for example the "black reporter zorki-6" (google the thing), but I prefer when there is sobriety in the work. Not glimmering things that look like an extravagant woman purse 🙂

Something I find interesting about all those camers is the engraving and decorating doesn't mean they toughed a thing on the interior. Many still have the originak hardened grease and/or shutter curtains.

Muslim and Hindu "Leicas" are next. Then the Buddist versions. The Scientiligst versions should really become collectibles.
Kurt M. (Jewish member who owns non-sectarian Zorki 4 and Fed 5 both of which work well in spite of no religious affiliation).

Hey, I'd like an atheist version, existentialist black, with a lens cap styled like a French beret...
