Nugard, pfoto, sepiareverb,
Thanks for the info, it confirms what I was told before.
I doubted long time between a x0.72 and a x0.58 as I wear glasses and mostly use 50mm, but also 35mm. But I was assured that the 35mm framelines are very usable with glasses and x0.72. I tried this in a shop and it was true.
Because I had to go a la carte if I wanted a 0.58 I started creating my ideal MP, and that turned out to be exactly the same as the one shown by RITskellar above (the BP finish). Then I found a very interesting deal on a black paint MP3 kit at popflash: it had everything including a bp 50 summilux. It was a x0.72 vf, but as I tried one successfully in the shop I knew that should be no problem.
It is absolutely a great camera, but using the 35mm frames with glasses is more difficult than on the x0.72 camera I tried in the shop.
Now I understand why:
- the MP3 framelines cover the whole negative, not the area of a mounted slide as in the standard viewfinders, so they are a little bit bigger
- the MP3 viewfinder is a little bit narrower because the raised frames around the front window crop the field of view somewhat as Sepiareverb explains.
In the end all that doesn't matter too much as I love my camera and just cannot not take pictures all the time!
best!
