I refreshed in the last time the contact with my 90-year-old former photography mentor (the boss of the business where I used to get my apprenticeship). We had a nice talk about old and modern times and also photography. I mentioned also this forum and at my next visit he surprised me with the fact he studied RFF for several hours.
But his statement makes me smile:
"All this theorizing makes things appear more complicated than they are in reality."

Sounds like words of wisdom to me. I think people worry too much about technical details, but don't really understand them. It gets in the way of their creativity.

I don't think many of the threads on RFF deserve the label 'theorizing'. 'Bickering' seems more accurate if you ask me
