SPRING LAKE — Doris Erhorn loved the old photos her father had taken back in the 1950s of Grand Haven and thought they would make great posters for the walls of her Ship and Shop store in Spring Lake.

So a year ago, Erhorn had several old Kodachrome slides converted into posters, mounted, framed and hung on the walls in her store.

"So many people come into the store and want to know if I know who the boy is and I don’t," Erhorn said recently.
"My father just carried a 35-mm camera with him everywhere he went and took random pictures. This picture, I assume, was one that he just took without knowing who the boy was."
The boy is wearing a pink Hopa-long Cassidy shirt and appears with another man who might be his father or just the man he is fishing with.
The photo is from 1958, so Erhorn guesses that if the boy was about 8 or 10 years of age, he would have to be at least 59 to 69 years old today. "
