Four months. Four months of hunger, no steak, cheap beer. Four months of scraping. Research. Hundreds of reviews. Four months of misery, four months of jumping about like a kid awaiting Santa Claus.
I got a Fuji Sexy Too, and I am thrilled.

What a lovely camera. I know, I know, it's not the camera, but the eye behind it. Still, I'm in love...

Looks like you and Fuji are connecting quite nicely. Cheers!

what?
Looks like you are connecting nicely with the new Fuji. Your B&W photos are quite nice. That 18-55 "kit" lens is seriously good (I have one on my XE1).

Went through the same thoughts as you; only longer. I own R lenses, M's and ltm glass, all Leica. I finally purchased the same with the 14mm and grip and case to help protect it.Four months. Four months of hunger, no steak, cheap beer. Four months of scraping. Research. Hundreds of reviews. Four months of misery, four months of jumping about like a kid awaiting Santa Claus.

Thank you, all of you.
One of the things I love is the ability to dial in a colour filter in black and white, without losing a stop or more. with the red filter, I get lovely dark skies over sunny scenes.
When I had payed the last of my debts, I first wanted to save for a Monochrom, or maybe an M, but then I realised it would take at least three years of scraping to get there, I decided my ambitions would have to point a little lower. I want to use my camera, not dream of it.
So I got the closest thing : rangefinder styled body, speed and aperture dials where they are supposed to be, excellent sensor and a decent line-up of lenses.
In the shop, the guy next to me was buying a M, just the body. I guess both of us must have had the same thought : 'Am I buying the right camera, or should I get the other one?
I think I took the right decision : I can mount my leica glass on a cheap and cheerful adaptor : the 28 becomes a fast 42, the 90 is now a 135!
Leica has drifted to a place where the things are that I can only dream of : classic yachts, winning the lottery and a villa in the Carribean. And fuji is filling the gap quite competently.
Cheers

First congratulations on your purchase.
More importantly, you are making photographs people enjoy viewing. Keep up the good work.
The sacrifices you made were clearly worthwhile. I admire you.

Lukita, please repeat 100 times
'its the PHOTO not the Gear' ... that seduces the viewer
I'll repeat it a hundred times hundred times.
But gear does count. Painting with oils is different than drawing with charcoal. If you like the soft subtlety of an ink brush, you might be taken aback by the scratchiness of a pen. Cameras are important in that way : a linhoff technika doesn't work the same like a hasselblad, and SLRs can be anything from a spotmatic to a D4. Different cameras push your photography in different directions.
My first lesson was from the Famous Photographers school : the assignment was to replicate a series of photos taken by professionals, with a 'bad" camera, a brownie or a simple folder. The best exercise I ever did : learning to work around the limitations of your gear.
Still, it is such a joy to use a well designed little camera that falls well to hand, and offers bells and whistles like auto-ISO and film simulations to choose from.
Thank you all for the congratulations and encouragement!
Cheers

Nice set..
I liked the shot of the guy and his reflection the best... Enjoy your new camera. If u zone focus, make sure that your adapter for your old Leica lenses focuses correctly at infinity mark.

Great work with your new combination Lukatis!
In looking how to re-enter the digital world: I once used to have a leica m8.2 : a great camera but with the limitation of lenses to use through the rangefinder. I missed the freedom to choose the focal length. Since one week I am the proud owner of a fuji x-pro1 and mounted my nikon 24mm on it. Lovely camera and much nicer to use than the leica m series!!!!!! (For me....).
