A moment of terror

I got my M9 out of the cabinet and found what I thought to be a spider web on the LCD screen, only to find that it was actually CRACKED! I installed a Giottos screen protector as soon as I bought it, so I hoped the damage was limited to that.

Ordered a new Giottos and, after removing the broken one, I found the actual screen to be just fine. *WHEW*

I have no idea what would have happened without the screen protector, but I sure don't want to find out either.

That happened to me too, different camera though. However same protection screen. I almost got a heart attack before finding out the damage was limited to the Giotto. Found out the protection screen needed protecting. 😉

What the hell kind of mice do YOU have in your cupboards?! Dang. 😀

All I can figure is that it must have happened when I was last using it and I didn't notice. Funny how this happens the same week Leica announces an M9 with sapphire glass. Wonder if they'll offer it as an upgrade.

Maybe nothing, if the 'protection' was weaker than what it was 'protecting'?

You mean this happened while the camera was in the cabinet?

No, I suppose it happened in use and it put it away without noticing. That, or I have gremlins.

At $12.95 per piece, I'll keep using them.
