I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has gone through this. I wanted a lightweight manual focus Nikon SLR but didn't want to spend the money for an FM3A, so I decided to get an FM2n. I had bid on a clean body a couple of days ago and figured I was going to be outbid. Two days passed, and when I logged in to ebay this afternoon, there it was, the same auction with less than a minute to go in the auction. Anyway, to make a long story short... here's my new toy:

Thanks. I have 4 AI(s) lenses:

1) The cult classic Vivitar 28/2.0 (by Komine)
2) CV 58/1.4
3) The classic Nikon 105/2.5 AIS
4) Another cult classic - The Kiron 105/2.8 macro lens - the sharpest of them all.

If that works as designed, you *will not* be disappointed in any way.
Wonderful camera.

Now ..... think about the Nikkor 28mm/f2.8 .... fabulous lens.

In any case - have fun shooting !!

Yeah, the 28/2.8 AIS is a classic -- I used to have one, but I think the demand for that lens is driving up the prices.

Good catch! It looks to be in beautiful shape. A late FM2n is a very solid camera, I hope you enjoy the heck out of it.

That looks to be in amazing condition.

My similar moment of weakness was a few months ago - an FM2n (black and well used) and F801 popped up with a few other accessories with a low buy now on our local auction site. I couldn't stop myself (despite already having an FE2).

The extended moment of weakness was another auction showed up in the wrong category - I found it by accident. Only me and another guys seemed to notice it and I ended up with another F801, a boring zoom lens, SB 20-something flash and a 50/1.2 AIS in mint condition for about 75% of what the 50/1.2 is worth. Need to sell some stuff now... Resist the GAS.

kxl--you'll LOVE that little camera! It's surprisingly robust, and assuming the meter is OK--it's a great Nikon. They built 'em to last--congrats! And the suggestion of a 28/2.8 AIS is a good one--you won't be disappointed.

Great camera. I have one in similar condition that I have had for 20 years. You wont regret owning it. An absolute rock solid manual treasure !

Nice, I dig mine! After I got it I checked out the FM3a at a local shop, and realized there was no need for it as I shoot these things in manual mode only.

I have a couple of FM's and FE's...love the meter on the FE...haven't used the FM's enough to review them...
Yours is a beautiful example of the fine Nikon workmanship many of us have come to know...

I haven't bought anything off ebay in a very long time. I hardly even look any more as I have pretty much all I want. But when I did, I was sometimes just astounded at putting in a bid which I knew was way too low, only to win the auction.

I got my 50mm Mamiya lens for my Super Press for an incredibly low amount that way, and the 250mm for it as well. Your and my good fortune. Enjoy the camera!
