Anyone found an insert similar to Domke's single insert but with a padded bottom and a little more durable.

I've been using a Domke single insert with a cut up mouse pad in the bottom for a few years and just sticking it in whatever bag I'm carrying with me. It works great and I much prefer this system to a "camera" bag but the inserts aren't really made for this and it's starting to fall apart.

Does anyone know of a more durable insert which would be better suited to this type of use? A little thicker padding, a closed, padded bottom and an open top that you can basically stick in any bag and still grab the camera easily.

I have a Lowepro backpack that has a removable insert. I've stashed it in less conspicuous canvas backpacks and it works very well. You might want to check B&H and just do a search for Lowepro replacement inserts. good luck

Which Domke insert are you using? I have the Safrotto F-803 clone and think that the insert is definitely superior to the Domke version. It would seem to meet all of your requirements. I just don't know whether you can buy the inserts separately. You would have to look in to it.
