A multi-year journey has begun!

Dave,

Do a little bit of research on using Twitter to send daily snippets of your travel, gather followers (people who are interested in your cause, not stalkers) and to find and connect with people who live in your next destinations.

Use Tumblr to host your pictures, make it a diary of photographs.

Both cost nothing and can be a very effective and practical venues for you to make your travel easier and more interesting, and to share your journey.

And of course, when you landed in North Texas, near Dallas - Ft.Worth area, drinks are on me, as well as barbeque dinner and peach cobbler.

Happy trails! and wish you God's protection and blessings in your big journey.

I'm on Facebook so I always share there. Your off to a great start Dave...enjoy blogging. Also since you like going to your local library, if there is a community bulleting board leave a link posted for locals to check out. & don't forget to add a link to your signature here.

Actually, with the exception of the one cautionary post about Texas law and photography (are you denying that law actually exists?), most everyone here seems to be enthusiastic about Dave's project.

My post about Texas' unique candid photography law does not mean I am not enthusiastic about Dave's plans. I thought I was giving Dave advice to help make his trip as hassle free as possible. There's still lots of interesting things to photograph in Texas.

And very much appreciated, Willie! No problem here. Also, glad to hear it works on the iPad as I will have to figure a way to work that in a non-existing budget myself!:)
