Make it in black and make it cheaper than the M-E, and they can have my money...

I wish they would make one with the new sensor....

I wonder if they're going to make enough to fulfil the long queues.
They will up the price on this... the T pricing certainly makes sure of it.

If they can get a Typ 240 battery into an M-E it'll be more than just a refresh: it'll be a completely new camera.

Personally a quieter shutter/re-winding would make it perfect for me.

If it's going to be like 6k I'd still buy M240 for sure

To sell high numbers, Leica needs to issue a new legacy digital M with the following specifications:
1) Same dimensions as the MP/M6
2) Black paint and Chrome like the MP/M6
3) Full frame sensor
4) Reliabity in mind
5) Low noise operation
6) No live view required
7) No Gadgetry
8) Manual rewind
9) Normal optical rangefinder system
10) Same price as MP/M6
11) long term spare parts obsolescence control
This will sell and work for most of us right ?

Same here considering the price for a certified pre-owned M240 with 1-year warranty from Leica is around $6295

Remember, Price times Quantity = Revenue.
Leica doesn't need to sell in high numbers

I would like to see the USB port put back. Every thing else can just stay as is. Mostly I would not like to see them go away from the CCD sensor.

I guess it will push used m9 prices lower, which is great news.

If Leica would put a faster CPU and better battery plus the quiet Shutter and advance from the M240 in front of that 18mp CCD I would pony up if reviews were favorable.
Seems logical to me that they would consolidate components in the 3 Digitals M bodies as much as possible. It just makes sense.

I think what will happen is that used M-E prices will be lower - closer to used M9 prices. For Used M9 prices to go down further, current M9 users would have to give up their cameras in droves to buy the new M-E. Not likely to happen given that its the same sensor.
