...and all the others who have labored to provide knowledge and guidence to FSU camera users... especially us Kievaddicts.

And a special note to Russ and his KSS... I've visited so many times I feel that I should owe you rent. But I just last night realized one of your unpublicized secrets:

Russ is using a Bogen type QR plate to hold the disassembled Kiev steady while he works on it... I had to try it... Wonderful! What a slick idea. Sure keeps your fingers off the shutter curtain.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you all.

First, I will second your thanks. I would have five dead Kievs if it wasn't for this site and Russ' in particular.
Second, I noticed in your sig... 5 Nikon SLRs. Whatcha running? I myself just got a second F3 HP and an N90s. I enjoy the RFs, but I love the nikon gear too. Hopefully, one day, the Nikon RFs will return to normal prices:bang:

Oh yeah, I plan to shoot some pics of ex- President Clinton tomorrow with a Kiev 2 and hopefully the N90s and I gotta do the TV thing as well. Should be a fun day after the security checks are finished... those are always a pain!!

is there any chance to see those kiev photos of clinton here on rff? it would be very interesting - making photos of US president with Russian camera. 😀

Seconded in *****s. I dunno how I would've managed without all the help here.

As for tomorrow's shoot - sheesh - good luck and God give you quick fingers! I don't envy you one little bit.

Oh, I was on the media riser and streaming my video live via our website, so I was not able to get to the cutaway riser. Consequently, I was stuck at the back of the auditorium. I did snap off some shots around the media riser of all the media types hard at work. If I had a Jupiter 11 or 9 I might have tried to get some shots, but the 50mm just didn't cut it for close ups. The other Photogs there did get a kick out of me and my archaic RF.

Sorry I missed your post TVP

M'Gawd, a Rooski camera in the face of the Secret Service?

"He's going to shoot Clinton?"

You may well have started a new cold war! 😉

Oh yeah... Nikons, nothing exotic: F, FE, N2002, F801, N8008 & N80.

(hmmm... I think that's six, not five. Wish I could tell you that I use

them all, but only the latter three get any work these days.)

The FE is a fun camera. One of the first Nikons to have a 'useable' Flash sync speed. I am still amazed that even my F3 HPs sync at 1/60th. Heck, I just stepped into the autofocus world a couple of weeks ago with the purchase of an N90s. I still have fun with the FSU stuff.

But many start suffering from sticky shutters these days. Had this happen to me and read it more than once in descriptions on evilbay, so count in a CLA.
