This photo has a very interesting story.
I took this photo at Glacier National Park in the summer of 2004. It was the last major stop on our family trip to Canada. We origanaly took the trip to put my Grandmother's ashes in the headwaters of the Columbia River, and to go visit some of my grandmother's relitives. On the way back I had the great opportunity to hike in Glacier National Park, which has got to be on of the most amaizing places on earth. With my grandfathers camera in hand I was hoping to see some wildlife. I was shooting kodak max 400, my iso dial was set to 25. I had no idea what I was doing. However, I did know how to focus. And so I ended up being lucky enough to see a heard of rams cross the trial I was hiking right in front of me. This is a picture of what appears to be the alpha male of the heard. It was amaizing. While everyone else was keeping a safe distance, I got as close as I could. At 25 feet I could tell by his stance that he didn't want me any closer. I took the shot, and right after that he began to run toward me. I quickly got out of the way as the male and the rest of the heard crossed the trail.
Later on, I finished up that roll of film, and switched film. However, when I was chnaging film, I didn't notice that I dropped the roll with this picture on the ground. In fact I didn't notice it was gone untill I was another mile up the trail. I was devistated when I realized it was gone. However by a stroke of luck some people found the film and we crossed paths later on that day. I got my film back, developed it, and despite everything I did wrong, my picture didn't turn out half bad. With a little help from photoshop and by scanning it in black and white, it is a decent shot. It is by far my most prized photo.
