I visited my cousin in-law's retired farm in Wisconsin (near West Bend) over Halloween weekend. These were all taken with a Leica M2, Canon 50mm f1.8 and Kodak Ektar 100. Sunny 16 for all of them :) Please let me know what you think.

Nicely Done! I say keep photographing this place looks the start of a nice project. The colors look great as well, I shot a roll of Ektar 100 and really liked what I saw so I got 5 more rolls to play with...

The OOF areas of the bird feeder shot is mesmerizing. Outstanding. And to think I'm finally looking at and admiring shots made with a lens that I own!

#4 doesn't work for me, is that a nest we're looking at?

And #6 has too much of that white blotch in the background distracting me from the in focus flowers. It works better for me if the top half of the photo is cropped out.
But hey, I know I'm being super-picky and subjective. They're all very very nice.

Thanks Robin.

Marko - I wish I could keep photographing the farm but I'm now back in California and probably won't be able to get back to Wisconsin for another 6mo-1yr. :(

Geroge - #4 is a sunflower. It was a tough exposure to get right but it's the only shot of the silo (in the background) I have.

John - Your right. :) I follow his blog regularly. This monkey was sticking out of a window in one of the sheds. I forgot to ask why it was even there.

CHris - you know you don't have to go all the way to the midwest to see a dairy farm, right? Just head east on the 91 for about 20 miles (to my neck of the woods), and VOILA -- get a whiff of all that methane. :D

That's exactly why I wanted to photograph a RETIRED dairy farm. :D

Thanks Barrett. I'd like to get some printed eventually, I'm just running out of wall space in my little one bedroom apartment. :)

Pears?! I live well south (SW of Chicago), and I can't get pears trees to make it through the winter. Must be close enough to the lake.

Nice shots, thanks for sharing. I'm going to try to find a roll for the weekend.

Some of the pics are good. Of the macros, though, I only like the wheat. The others are really too blury in back for me!

The color is really good. Maybe I'll try some Ektar too.

Probably, we should spend more time sharing and discussing pictures on this form than discussing Leica's marketing strategies...

Nice photos, Chris! Not too much sellers remorse after seeing these;)!
The more examples of the new Ektar I see, the more impatient I am to get mine. Should have a few rolls by the end of the week, post office willing.
As I was scrolling down the page, I saw an interesting "crop" of the photo of the door and extension cord--had you thought about cropping to just the green wall?
Rob

bean counter - The weird thing is there was no pear tree in sight where that picture was taken.

JP - Yes, more pictures, less discussion of things out of our control.

Rob - Thank you. I had considered that crop but I wanted to try leaving everything "as is" for a change and just taking whatever I captured.
