It looks like the emulsion cracked while in storage. Lots of small fractures throughout the emulsion. I would have thought that it would have slid away during processing, but I guess it didn't.

i agree but frame it and hang it,see how many ask how you got that effect.whatever it is I love the effect...I agree, looks like f ungus...

That would all depend on where you hang it! I know there are some circles that would love this sort of thing. I'd be happy with it, at least.

Ok, only 14 years out of date: must be storage conditions. Repeated heating and cooling, at a guess. Maybe it was left on a counter / in a store display for 10 years.
I, too, am surprised you are not missing huge flakes from the emulsion.
