A friend found a Zeiss Ikonta IV in her fathers basement (along with many other gems). It's in mint condition. Even the original leather case is mint with only a few small wrinkles where it's been opened. The original filters in their little boxes and the instruction manual are also in the box. It's just beautiful. She has been letting me take some of these one at a time to check out and play with. Last week I swapped out the Mamiya C2 for this Zeiss Ikonta and ran a roll through it. The film transport needs some TLC as some of the frames had no gap between them, and a couple actually overlapped about a a millimeter. Besides that, it focuses and operates as smooth as can be.
Guess I should have taken a picture of the camera too.....

Fima Bender at Panorama Camera in NYC made a gear for my Super Ikonta IV and this fixed the overlap problem.
With my camera, if I press the shutter release before cocking the shutter, I lose the frame.

That is a real common problem with mechanical advance cameras of that era as the shutter linkage has a lock in it. The solution is to trip the shutter from the release on the shutter itself. Unfortunately, some cameras make it real hard to get at.
