Got this in my inbox today. May be old news to some, but figured this passing deserved a thread of its own. Yeah I know Pickett, I should embrace this as a sign that life is good, but I don't.

Thank you for contacting FUJIFILM North America Corporation. Please
allow us to assist you.

We regret to inform you that the Fujifilm PRO160S, 160c, and Pro800Z
films are being discontinued and will no longer be in production.

We sincerely hope that this information has been beneficial to you. If
you should have any further questions or concerns, please do not
hesitate to contact us in the future. It would be our pleasure to
assist you again.

Thank you for your interest in FUJIFILM products and services.

Respectfully,

I have an M9 coming, but also just ordered a bunch of 800Z and 160C. Sadly I missed all the 800Z in 120 at Freestyle or B&H after an ebay seller reneged on a deal- I was really looking forward to seeing it through the Rollei FW.

This on top of the loss of Supra Endura paper from Kodak is a real drag.

Start planning on buying an M8 or M9 if you need color images.

Whatever. There's plenty other films on the market. And I never liked the look of Fuji color anyway. That's too bad for those who liked it though.

I'm not sure the single most expensive digital camera on the market is the only option for a person interested in shooting color lol

And let's keep in mind that this subforum has a history of people proclaiming the cancelling of a product prematurely. I've not been able to find any information that supports the claim by the OP. Historically, this means the OP is confused, wrong, or lying. Time will tell.

B&H and Freestyle list 800Z as out of stock. I know some local stores that still have some along with Neopan 400. I'll probably make my way out to pick up a few boxes soon.

After that its Portra which I like better, just the Fuji's had a nicer price.

This is fairly old news... Fuji announced this in Feb but made such a mess off it nobody really understood what was going on. They also killed off Neopan 400 in 120 format at the same time. There’s an old thread here about that.

Did you contact Fuji? Well, I did email Fuji yesterday through their website and asked them directly if these specific films were being discontinued and have posted above the reply I got from them today. I suppose they could just be pulling my chain to piss you off. I'd like to hope so, but when told by the manufacturer that something is no longer made I tend to believe it- even if it is Fuji.

Well that's unfortunate that it's gone. I always wanted to try the 800z. I guess that I won't have to worry about it now. I do feel bad for those of you who liked the film. Portra is a great alternative to those films that are being dropped, so don't despair too long.

I've decided that after lamenting the fact that many of my faves have bitten the dust ( HIE, tech pan, apx 100, Foma 200 ), I'm just going to use what's available and not cry about something which I have no control over. OK, maybe I'm still crying over HIE, but that's it. I promise...

Nah, Fuji is just going into stealth mode. They are still making all that film but are only going to sell it to insiders in Germany. One of them seems to appear anytime one of these threads is started. 🙂
