Several years ago, I bought a Rapidwinder for my then-new M2 from TomA, and I've been extremely happy with it. So when the opportunity presented itself, to buy a second one, to fit my M4-2, I jumped on it. Got an excellent price, it appears to be new-in-the-box, with papers. Should be here in the next few days. Can't wait to get it 😛

Here is my new Rapidwinder for M4-2. Just as smooth as the one on M2, and certainly an improvement, both size-wise, and in terms of how the camera handles. So M4-2 is now loaded with Eastman XX and my Canon 35mm F2, for a -quick- roll.

It's like an M6 without a meter. I love it so far:

A Leicavit-type winder is just an expensive toy unless the photographer (a) is left-eyed or (b) has to do a good deal of quick-fire work. I had a Canon VT Deluxe, which has a built-in bottom winder, in the days when I did press work and had sometimes to shoot fast. It was invaluable, as the camera has knob wind. However, I could use my M3, or one of my my SLRs, almost as fast.

OK, now I hope all you buyers of seconds have finished. I'm trying to buy my first and keep getting outbid - It must be you lot 🙄

Ah, But I've always been a left-eyed shooter. I find it to be a useful luxury especially for rapid-fire shooting. And I can concentrate on the view through the finder with greater ease.

Now, the Leica M4-2 Winder, that -is- a toy, IMO.

Sexy lookin!!!!! You collection never fail to impress me! And this looks to be a really compact set up.

Cheers,

Thanks Benny!
The black Griptac is a good choice.
Need to finish up Griptac on M5.

I'm enjoying this camera alot more with the Rapidwinder.
Three Cheers for TomA!
