Great collection! I happen to be a huge fan of the Lynx 1000 and the EE (the selenium meter version...I saw one that looked like it was an EE with an electronic meter). I think the 1000 is one of the nicest RFs ever made, certainly my favorite Yashica, and the EE stunned me when I got my first roll back from the lab--they were amazingly sharp! I recently sold my GSN, but then felt like I had a big hole in my camera arsenal, so I got another. Not a big fan but maybe this one will change my mind.

Mc/gl

Mc/gl

Huh, rare M5.
And no minimalista 35 MC ??? (kind of advocating this model here : )

Just zone focus, MC, ME etc, but i do have an ME1. And loads of half frame.
I love the Half 17, i think, The one with the case that seems to have been thought about more than the camera.
M5 is in poor condition compared to the rest of my cameras.
GL would be nice only ever seen a couple on the evil bay.
Go for some proper money.
We dont like to pay too much for our cameras do we.
Most i payed was £28 ish for the CC.
M5 was a fiver. I see quite a few of these over here.
I just got a minimatic EL f1.7 off the bay. £6.00.
was going to send it back, some nasty scratches to front element.
But £6.00. cost me that to send it back. and they are rare over here.
Whats the chances of the front element being the same as the electro?
Straight swap?

Can't say for front element swap as I don't have minimatic.

Hm, this makes hope - same name and specs as G-series have.

The twin leaf Copal shutter seems to have a range of between 1/30 and 1/500th sec.

....let's hope shutter construction doesn't require also changes in framing for glass. But things seems so promising that I'd grab beater G to try out.

btw have you tried taking pics with scratched glass? I'm kind of nerd in this aspect though people say it's not so scary as it looks - even badly scratched glass will produce pics, degrading quality to some level and depending of light conditions. This helped me to opt for camera with scratch on glass.

P.S. yesterday finished first roll in ME1 - and it is completely different from MC which is small metal bodied Av mode beast capable down to 4 sec. exposure, compared to all plastic daytime ME1. I'll post some thoughts on ME1 when film will be souped - after NY.

Hi
"Scratched" glass : maybe I saw this linkhere at RFF, but it is quite impressive
http://www.lensrentals.com/news/2008.10.30/front-element-scratches

...and there is another one here using a (recently repaired) Electro 35 MC. Some pictures attached. I'm not yet sure if the electrical part is 100% fine, but so far I'm optimistic.
Happy New Year
Joao

Mnimatic EL front element

Mnimatic EL front element

Should have realised they were different when i made the friction tool to get the front element off, very different as you see in the pics, probably the same glass, but the mount is very different.
The lens sticks out of the metal mount, unlike the electro 35 glass. so i had to make the cut out friction tool you see in the other photo.
Looks like this was how it was scratched in the first place, someone trying to get the front element off. It was on pretty tight.
Oh well. another valuable lesson learnt.

Great collection! I'm down to two - the Lynx 14, and the CC. Both great cameras. Despite only accepting film speeds up to 500, the CC is just fantastic in low light. Wonder why they decided to limit it? Maybe I answered my own question. I had a GSN that I gave away to a cousin who was getting interested in photography. Great camera but thought it the most replaceable. Since, I have trained myself to use the Lynx 14 as an aperture priority camera by changing the SS ring on the lens barrel instead of the aperture. By putting that ring first, it seems that might have been their intent. One of these days I might pick me up another Yashica - cheap as chips, fun to collect. Maybe the 1000.

And I have never seen a GL, rarest of all the Yashicas - harder to find than the GX.

One day the GL will be mine Nick! As will the black GX.
but not at £60-80.
I have not put a film through my CC, yet!
Though having just picked it up everything works fine.
How do you get on with the shutter/aperture, it seems very basic compared to the Electro G, GX etc.
It is very similar in size /looks to my Himatic 7SII, another i have yet to put a film thro, any comparison?
Chris

Last months I see GX and CC going around very often. Minister 700 in my eyes is more rare than CC.

What makes Lynx 14 special is how rock steady it is, allowing handheld even slower times.
