Yes, I think we are more in agreement than not. I used to use a Canon TSL 24 II for, well, almost everything but mostly architectural photography. If I were doing what you are doing, an arsenal of TS lenses is exactly what I would have. The OP, I glean (though I do not know), is looking for a way to simplify in order to find a particular vision.
All photographers benefit by thinking about their vision. The trick is to avoid making a straitjacket for yourself or becoming a one-trick pony while creating photographs that look uniquely yours with a degree of coherence and consistency.
I have a preference for moody, evocative images and the 645 format - but if a photograph would be better without either, then I’ll forgo them.
