Seems you like yours.
But for $100, I think, one can get Fuji Silvi with REAL 24mm lens, and it's 3 stops faster, too.

good points, i might edit that to say for less than 50$ or so that i found mine. I wouldnt recommend paying more than that for a ricoh r1s.

mildly related, I suppose
I have a Ricoh R10/Elle, that according to the information I've seen online is a member of the family tree, and like the R1 it has the 30mm 3.5 (but not the 24mm mode), I've read some speculation that it's same as the R1 lens, but does anyone have any info/experience of the R10?

I have both the R1 and the R10 (and also GR1, GR1s..). R10 is for sure cheaper, it doesn't have lcd in the viewfinder, for focus areas. But still, I prefer the R10 over the R1 because it seems more sturdy and it focuses at half-press, not at full press, as does R1 (and olympus mju ii).

for usability I don't have any experience with the R10, but the R1 for me with the 24mm mode was an interesting experience in vignetting and lomo-like effects.
the ricoh R1\R1s has now become more hard to find, and prices have gone up since I written the review.
