A Sonnar Shot A Day

This boat, the Captain Connor, has been in drydock as long as I can remember. It is a boat because it is small enough to be lifted onto a ship. And a ship is large enough to lift a boat onto it, IIRC. Someone salty set me straight on this. I do not know if she will ever go back in the water as it looks like the boards have dried and shrunk

"Water, water, every where,
And all the boards did shrink;"

M9 + the lovely Skyllaney Bertele Sonnar 5cm f/2.0. Probably at f/5.6 or f/8.0.

Is this coming into Chippewa Falls? It has been a while for me, but it looks familiar.
That's that dam at Dells Pond in Eau Claire as seen from the old C&NW high bridge (now a foot bridge) across the Chippewa River. It's about a half mile upstream from the confluence of the Chippewa and Eau Claire Rivers where the Cascade Papers tissues plant is.

You're thinking of the NSP power dam at Chippewa just as you cross into town and it does look remarkably similar from the right angles.

How far from Leinenkugels?? ;o)

The NSP dam? About a mile ;) Once upon a lifetime ago my National Guard armory was a block from the brewery. Needless to say, we'd always find room for a keg on one of the trucks...

I understand that at one time the brewery tap room was a free ride so long as you did not get sloppy. It is one of those good regional beers, little known outside of its area. It is often prescribed by NG medics for a variety of ailments and I understand it works. ;o)

I preferred the old Walter's tap at the old brewery in Eau Claire (RIP). It was literally just a tap off the main bottling line at the end of the tour where you stood around with a cup and shot the breeze for however long you wanted. And since those were the glory days of 18 drinking age, no one asked any questions :)

Details of an old school building. This was the old 2nd Ward Elementary School in Eau Claire. It was turned into very expensive condos some time ago. The brickwork was exquisite and I still get a laugh out of the separate boys and girls entrances. I couldn't get a clear shot of the boy's entrance from the far too busy Main Street. Perhaps on a weekend...

It was also known as Boyd Elementary for the name of the man who donated the land for the school and the playground (still a park to this day) across the street for for the school built in 1916.
