A Sonnar Shot A Day

Thursday October 3, 2024

The earliest house I remember living in at 4 years old, near where I currently live. A bit of a safety shot as my son had things he needed/wanted done.

Another deeply foggy morning, the first one is a deep crop of a beaver I almost missed seeing. The third was some really cool light form the sun just coming over the horizon through the fog. 77.jpg78.jpg79.jpg

Here in Astoria we have two kinds of sunshine: summer sunshine and winter sunshine. We have moved from summer to winter here and this is a photo of our winter sunshine. I have run out of subscreen so I am staying inside today, protected from this blazing sun. We will have this sun from now until about April. This is the usual view from my backdoor, Skin cancer is not much of a worry around here. M9 + Skyllaney Bertele Sonnar at f/8.0.

I couldn't resist posting this cheesy postcard shot to bring a bit of Sydney sunshine to boojum's Astoria shotView attachment 4846202. CZJ Sonnar 50mm f.15 T.

That opera house is one of the most beautiful uses of concrete I have ever seen if not the most beautiful. Resisted, controversial and now a beacon to the world. Gratefully folks with some vision overrode the local Babbits and got the damned thing built. And look what you now have!

And sunshine, too. I have read about sunshine. ;o)

Running late on the day, so I decided to see how that Rooster sculpture looked at night by street light illumination. F/1.4, focused on the beak. :)

Grey & gloomy this morning on the way home. First I saw this old XS750 some had chopped, probably for racing, on the edge of a parking lot. But from the look of that front tire, she hasn't run in awhile, poor girl...

Still even the gloomy skies can't hide the fall color coming on strong here in cool of the nights...
