Tried shooting in manual focus mode - f11, DOF from 1.5-3.0m, auto ISO 1600 and min 1/60. Aperture priority. Should have used 1/125 as the minimum to counter subject movement.

Your B & W (great :) ) pictures from color conversion really looks like B & W film ! Is it SilverEfex ?
