...is that i'm not missing the rd1 as much as i thought i would.

i thought i would be suffering from seller's remorse and down in the photo gear dump!

but i have really fallen hard for the x-e1 and that 35mm lens...funny as 50 was never a favourite on any camera before...i even like the 18 which as a 28 i never really warmed to.

i guess an old dog can learn a few new tricks.

i still like the x-pro1 as well ...just not as much as the smaller x-e1...

That's good to here. I'm not surprised though because the X-E1 looks like a very good camera. I'm lusting for a digital Leica right now, but the Fuji lineup is tempting. Much cheaper and full featured.

No reason to miss old panties when new ones aren't uncomfortable. Cameras are like underpants - one don't feel them when they fit right and don't miss worn ones. Problem is when they are too small or too large, or cause bad etch....otherwise - they come and go, so cameras do.

now, that's a unique was of looking at things...

Well Joe, my RD1 has gone the same way as yours. Sold to a member here yesterday. He should have it this morning and hopefully he'll enjoy it as much as I did. I never lusted for a Leica while owning it.

new is certainly nice...

Funny, I'm going the opposite way, older the better, at the moment. I expect that will change, it has before. I do envy users of new/newer cameras though, no worry about light leaks in bellows or shutters, frame spacing issues, range finder alignment etc. Most of those are worries rather than reality though. I do like the idea though of that warrantied, new camera, but not enough to actually do it, and move away from the beautiful classics.
