First of all a big thank you to all the members who sent messages and lent moral support over the last few weeks. It certainly helped me to keep my sanity! Thanks also for the patience shown by those members who have had cameras and lenses sat on my shelf for the last few weeks. 😉 Anyway life is getting back to normal. My daughter is back at university and although she has had to delay a couple of exams, everything there is going well. My wife is also almost back to normal. Indeed on Sunday she was fit enough to resume her duties as "Snowy Owl" and take the Brownies out on their outing.

This left me (and the kitchen table) alone for most of the day and so I have caught up with everybody elses jobs and half of mine. The tele elmarit is back together after it's clean and re-lube (front element going to Arax), Oly 35SP had its glass removed, cleaned and re-assembled, J8 collimated, two unusable Canon 50/2.8's combined to make one good one, QL17 pressure plate problem sorted, Flektogon 35/2.4 diaphraghm unstuck, and cleaned, hopefully sorted the light leaks in the Mir and finally an Oly 35RC fixed. That mainly leaves the 3rd of the J9 to collimate the cron to put back together and some other minor jobs.

Anyway most of the jobs for others went out today and the rest will go in the mail tomorrow which leads me to the first problem. Along the way, one of the UK members asked me for a tub of grease. I can't for the life of me remember who and they are probably too nice to remind. So do drop me a PM and I will post it and then it will stop nagging me. Thast leads me to the second problem. The Oly 35RC was given to me and the shipping was covered by some filters. (They are in the post today Kuvvy, honest). As it came free, it doesn't seem right to sell it. So, if anyone has a good suggestion as to a worthwhile home for it, I would like to hear.

Hi Bill,
I had thought of that but if I am to support them, I would probably be beter off sending them the shipping cost for film etc. 😉

As to the family, I gave Linda a Pentax 110 kit when our son was born and she won't use anything else. My son has the camera he wanted, an *Ist and Kiri won't use anything more complcated than an auto everything APS Pentax even though she had the choice of many others. 🙁

I'm glad to hear everyone is doing better, and I'm amazed (in a good way) that with everything else going on Kim has continued such dedicated support of the members of this board.

As one of those who has benefited from his burst of activity over the weekend (the postman just rang the doorbell with my J8 - unrecognisably smooth mechanics, now to go out and shoot some with it), I would like to publicly thank him for being such a generous gent.

It's heartening that the interweb can put us in touch with such folks - and that there seems to be such a high concentration of them here at RFF.

Kim,

As the others have said, it's good to hear that normality is beginning to return.

It was me for the grease (destined for a couple of I61s), along with the sticky-apertured Flek. I PMd you a day or two ago, but I've a feeling that not all of my PMs are getting through at the moment. Anyone else finding that messages are diappearing into the aether?

Take care, and don't run yourself down fixing everyone else's gear! We can wait...

Jamie

I will put it in with the Flek.

Hey Kim, no problem - glad things are slowly working out well for you. And I am very, very grateful for your help with my S2. 😀 I just got it today - it was sent to my office and kept for me while I was away on holiday. Thanks so much again. And all the best to your family!

Let me add to this, I'm really glad to hear you and your family are well and again back to normal.

Now take care and enjoy ! 🙂
