Unfortunately you can't see the photos unless you are a member of the forum...
EDIT: which is a shame, they sound very interesting.
2nd EDIT: actually, I was intrigued so I registered. The poster was a photojournalist from the mid 70s onwards who used Leica, the pictures are from this time. They are quite incredible, I recommend registering and having a look.

With b&w photos and the lack of development in East Germany between 1945 and 1990, it's really hard to place the time of the photos there. It would be equally believable if it was said that the photos were from from 1963 or 1988.

Wow! Thanks for sharing. Stunning and amazing work.
My uncle lived about 100m from 'The Wall' in Berlin from the late '60's onward. We never, ever received phone calls from him, but one night... we got the call... the Berlin Wall had come down. He now lives in what was East Germany and he has told me of that night and how surreal it was to walk down his street which had been cut-off by the wall and to be able to keep walking.
I recognised many of the photographs, so this photographer must have been rather widely published.

there are not so much more pics from Josef, some portraits.....
I met him in a region here in germany called hunsrueck, nearby the nuerburgring, where he wanted to build a kind of university for arts... we had a nice evening with a lot of good german wine, and we found out, that we both have been at the same school as kids...
in Kleve..... so we had a very cool talk about that and he was a very nice and friendly guy with a lot of humour....I think I have a nice autograph (with a hat ;-))) here , but I don´t know where...;-))

those are great photos Herb. I had to dig out my L-camera forum username and password. But, it was worth the effort.
