Posted in LA, but the seller is in NYC..
Mint condition M240 with only 600 shots for $2200!
Sure.
p.s. I think he is willing to throw in the Brooklyn Bridge with that.

Might be stolen. There has been so many meet & rob you as well as scams on Craigslist I don't trust the site.

99.9% likely to be spam looking for emails.
I wouldn't even message them, just flag it for removal.
This ad is better than the ones for a 5D mkIII for $400 that have been coming up frequently.

Or the ever increasingly common "buyer's agent" scam.

Area code for text messaging is New Brunswick, Canada. A far cry from the lower east side of New York City.

I know exactly what you mean - but...
I shop craigslist from time to time and see these "to good to be true" deals as well, and generally dismiss them. The 2013 Lexus for $1000 - because the seller has to relocate for a new job. That kind of thing.
I know how it works. You end up emailing outside the Craigslist system and the transaction gets more and more complex as they try to get you to send a money order. Or you end up getting endless emails from lonely women from the FSU looking for husbands.
A recent one was an "excellent" Hasselblad 501c 2 lens kit with 2 backs for $400. I skipped that and found 60+ rolls of Fuji Acros in 120 that I ended up buying. After a few emails and some negotiation I arrange the meet to get the film at the seller's office. Super nice guy with some sweet images on the wall. He was getting out of film and getting a Leica M 246 and a couple of lenses instead. Obviously money wasn't an issue for him.
So he gets the film out of the fridge and we're talking. I ask "This is a LOT of film. What kind of camera?" And he says "Hasselblad - and I thought I'd never be able to sell that thing. Pretty nice kit with a couple of lenses. In the end I had to drop the price to $400 just to be done with it."
(insert sad trombone sound here)
True story.

Ad is brilliant.
>privately owned Camera
someone seen for sale collectively owned camera? Or one used by an institution? latter is more possible but they all end up in possession of their users. Yet there could be camera owned by bank, and leased by someone. Someone?
>shutter count is 630 exposures
600 of them were 5 hour exposures. You get shutter with little wear, though.
>baseplate still has the protective film
just like my 35 y.o. beater Ricoh SLR has such film on base.
>rear screen has had a protective film applied since day 1.
I haven't applied film on any of my digital cameras. Like I keep room windows clear of film. I'm not the one who puts TV remote in a plastic bag.
Generally, it's an art to write ad without saying much.
