A weird difference between my two Petri 7S's

Today I bought another Petri 7s as a backup for the other and also to give for a friend to use. I noticed there are some minor differences between these two cameras.

Different flash syncs?

I think one is for electronic & the other flash bulb.

in a word, keep it simply at X (syncro for electronic flash)...or at M position, if sir is gourmet and is using older flash bulbs 🙂

Nope, it's also green, but it must have gone due to post processing. Sorry about that. 😉

I recently acquired 2 Petri 7s's and noticed a few differences. Both are 1.8 lenses. I was hoping to find out why one camera is different from the typical Green-O-Matic ones I see...

- grey/white window vs typical green (possibly glass changed out)
- red viewfinder meter vs black
- smooth cold shoe vs grooved
- one has no ASA 400 setting
- Petri logo imprint next to viewfinder (front right) vs none
- timer lever with teeth vs round red lever

Some manufacturers would introduce improvements (or cost cutting changes) during a run of cameras, without changing model numbers. Your first camera may have been made in a different year than the second one.

Is there any way to to which year a specific camera was produced?
Besides the lens serial number, I don't see any other markings.
Serial #'s: 729794 (white), 803462 (green)
