A word about the forums growth and members

No backslapping, just simple honesty: Jorge and Joe, you are so cool.

It is easier to say what's wrong about a moderator than to actually doing it. It is also easier to use a site when it's free and assume that it's one's right to do as you please. We all need a friendly reminder from time to time of what is expected from all of us in general when things get hectic.

Feedback goes both ways. We need feedback too. Thanks.

What elephant?

I meant that it's good to see the forum dealing with issues rather than ignoring them, letting them fester and get out of hand.

If you meant this sarcastically, then trust me, I laughed 🙂

BTW, the forum is great. Thanks to Jorge, Joe and all that contribute.

all forum members and the sublime moderator help make this a fine and unique site . it was enjoyable when I first joined, it is still enjoyable now. thanks to everyone for their civilability and good manners.

>>i don't recall ever being called sublime before...i'll have to look that word up<<

It's a little lower than a lime, I think, but a maybe little higher than a lemon.

By the way, Great job on a great forum.

sublime
adjective
1 extremely good, beautiful or enjoyable:
sublime beauty
The book contains sublime descriptive passages.

2 very great:

I thought it was a ska-punk-garage band from SoCal. Huh.

Jorge - thank you very much for providing a wonderful home!

Joe - I have to hand it to you. I'm one of a bunch of co-Mods on the largest bass guitar forum on the net - the idea of doing it all alone gives me the willies! (Which comment is probably making our UK contingent snicker.)

Someone referred to the RFF as a sanctuary. Indeed, and so increasingly rare on the internet that I consider it an international treasure. I commend you both, Jorge and Joe. I was at first incredulous to learn that just those two are at the helm of this thing. My hat is doffed and I bow deeply in respect (well, as deeply as I can at my age).

When I first stumbled across RFF a couple of years ago I remember spending several hours reading various threads, amazed that a camera design I thought had settled quietly into the dustbin of history was not only alive and well, but flourishing. I had been held in thrall for fifteen years by high-end SLR AF's and thought I knew it all. On this site I have been both humbled and educated.

Thank you all.

(Might buy an M4 tomorrow. Whooeee!)

There are bumps and wrinkles in life, why not in this forum?

The good thing about it is that we work to change and solve things. This is an ideal community!

As for me... when there are wrinkles and bumps in my own life, I come here! 🙂 This place helps me enjoy photography in the company of backslapping friends! 😀

Thanks, Jorge and Joe!

RFF has become just like a big, extended family: sometimes everybody gets along, sometimes they don't. And when they don't, look out.... it can get nasty. But family still, nonetheless.
