A6300 announced

Actually I'm not interested in buying as well.. I'm interested to c what the new tech they bring to market since it will be what is gonna be on the Fuji X series or Ricoh GR.. As far as Fuji is concerned, though they are in partnership w/ Panasonic on the organic sensor, who knows when it will put in a Fuji X series camera.. We know that they have been using the Sony sensor w/ their own filter array design. So I c this as what maybe my next Fuji sensor.

Well, you guys may not be interested (why post in this thread?) but this is a major announcement - it isn't as sexy as the A7 series, but the A6000/A6300 are extremely capable cameras and do what they are designed for: taking great pictures in most situations. One thing to note, the msrp of the A6000 was US$650,- (a bargain imho), the A6300 is US$1000,-. it is probably worth it, but it is a big price hike.

I posted here for the guys that are a6000 users and want an upgrade path.. As I said for me it is about the tech that will come to the next Fuji X series.

Same as the a7 series

Sony a7 ... $1700
Sony a7R ... $2300
Sony a7S ... $2500
Sony a7RII ... $3200

It's also in the same price range as the Panasonic gx8..

What will be interesting is how long they continue to sell the a6000 at current price vs the 450ish price during the thanksgiving Xmas holiday timeframe or even lower for that matter.

As I understand hundreds of AF points are for tracking AF mode, I get it right?

Phase detect af works not only for motion but for low light situations is better than contrast af, if I understand correctly. Someone please correct me here. However contrast detect is suppose to be more accurate..

http://bestmirrorlessblogs.com/comparisons/sony-a6000-vs-a6300-comparison/

A comparison of 6000 vs 6300.. An interesting note, if u look at the difference between the copper vs aluminum sensor diagram, they are inferring wider light incident angle. This new sensor could be better for legacy wide angle lenses.

Can't wait for it to come to the Fuji X line 🙂

Also b$h post a first look video...the Sony rep says the don't intend on discontinuing the a6000. Sounds like a6000 and a6300 current have same relationship as old Nex 6 vs Nex 7. To bad there is no tri-nav..

Agree. I got an A6000 for 400 USD before Christmas, as I really didn't want to wait longer for the update and the local price still today hovers well above 600 USD. Now seeing the A6300 spec (which corresponds to what I expected, although a higher pixel count seemed quite likely) and price, I'm very happy with the purchase. No doubt this however is the better product, and that 4k video would have been nice.

Looking this Sony's race for surpass only its own technologies, its bit shame Toshiba sensors were sold to them. More competition and alternatives would have been good for the market.

A7 mark III models are probably in horizon already, since a6300 delivers technologies II series don't have. Great to have new possibilities but bad for the wallet 😛
