The tutorials are a little dated, but still relevant for commercial still life photographers. After studying Steve Sint's lessons, I've incorporated a lot of new ideas based on what I've seen. I've built some of the featured items, accumulated some items from the internet, and ordered items from Set Shop directly. Placed an order super quick service and good prices paid as well. They have many more things I'd like to have. But it all happily fits right now in my little studio.

Here I'm using his light modifiers I've built (three of them) and they are perfect-o. Cheap to make and made to last.

I've been perusing e-mount zooms because if I ever get one that would be the focal lengths I'd want or thereabouts. My Nikkor 24-120 G lives on my D4 and I really like the variation it offers. What is the zoom you have used here? 🙂

I started with the Zeiss/Sony f/1.8 55mm ZA and the 24 - 240 Sony. The 24 - 240 pretty much lives on the camera and I am not sure about the reviews bu t the results are pretty good. Zooms can keep a lens inventory a lot smaller. ;o)

I started my native lens journey with a 28-70 kit lens I got off C-list for $100. Paired that with my then NEX-7.
I've managed to collect a few more since then (24, 40, 24-105, 90) and a few more bodies too.

Keith, I can vouch for the Sony 24-105 G F4 as well. As well, its portrait quality has been a surprise.
