A7r II forgets manual focus setting

So if I switch the camera to manual focus and then turn the camera off and turn it back on it goes back to auto focus... Is there a way for it not to do that that it stays in manual focus all the time even when I turn the camera on and off its still in manual focus...

I just checked mine again... put it on manual focus turned it off and then back on the AF bracket is back on and the peaking is off...

What firmware do you have installed? 4.00?

Curious. I ALWAYS use Manual Focus, and yet I hear the focus motor run while I manual focus. The motor doesn't actually DO anything, but it hums. Annoying, but I don't think it is a problem per se. Not sure what firmware I have, but will check that tonight.

I just updated the firmware to 4.00.... I always have it set to AF-S and I toggle AF off sometimes... So when I did the opposite switched to Manual focus mode and toggled it off to do AF and then turned the camera back on went back to Manual focus... I guess it kinda makes sense... Its not a huge deal.... I'm still a newbie to the camera... Its been great thus far!
