Dear Enthusiasts,
i`m thinking about a new Lens, Voigtlaenders 15mm.Did anyone has got some experience with the integrated RD1 Viewfinder, if you ignore the 28mm Frame and use the hole Finder for the 15mm Lens, or is it too close and its better to take a 21mm External Viewfinder. I know, some guys are lucky with the 15mm D ! Viewfinder, but where to get ???
The new Zoom Finder is to big for me.
So, is it possible to work with the hole RD1 View or not ?
Thanks for comments

No, it's not Michael. Even the 28mm viewfinder position doesn't give 28mm view - it just indicates the crop-corrected field of view for the 28mm lens when mounted on the R-d1. You'll need a separate 21mm finder - Stephen Gandy sells them (?).

When I had the Epson R-D1s and that lens, the external 15mm D VF was a must for me. Also for the 25mm Biogon f/2.8 I used an external VF.

@ wouter : i know that the 28mm (and the others) Frame is a crop frame for the rd-1, so its possible to take a 21mm lens and than take the hole view, right ?

The 15mm is effectively a 22,5mm lens on the R-D1 (and 20mm on the M8).
On the R-D1 that I sold last week, I used the Biogon 25, for the full view of the viewfinder, which did well. For the 21 and 15mm lenses you need the 25 and 21 viewfinders

Well, I can _almost_ use the whole viewfinder to guesstimate the 21 crop (the left side will be almost ok, the right will be narrower than the real picture).
But the 15mm is out of the question, it really needs an external VF... I use the 15D viewfinder from CV (it's corrected for a 1.5x sensor) but the "normal" 21 is ok.
