Question for someone having an UW Heliar 12mm:

Which is the distance from the deeper element to film plane?
Thanks!

Ernesto

Ernesto, there are two versions of the 12f5.6. One is a screwmount version for Leica M mount and the second version is a Nikon F mount version. The latter can be adapted to a M or screwmount fit body with the correct adapter. It has a very deep, protruding rear element (needs a "mirror-up" lock when using it on a Nikon F!
The LTM (screw-mount) can be used on any body that takes regular LTM lenses (Leica/Bessa/Canon/Nicca etc) and also with the correct adapter on any M-mount bodies (Leica,Zeiss,Bessa and Konica).
I suspect, though I have not tried it, that on some cameras with tight internal structure, the Nikon F version can cause problems (and also with CL and M5). The "regular" version is probably your best bet.
